Program Overview
The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) 2026 helps students from participating Western U.S. states and territories attend public colleges and universities at reduced tuition rates. Eligible students pay no more than 150% of in-state tuition, making higher education more affordable and reducing reliance on student loans.

Who Can Apply?

  • Residency: Legal resident of one of the 15 WICHE states or 3 territories (e.g., Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, American Samoa, Guam, or Northern Mariana Islands)
  • Program Level: Undergraduate programs (associate or bachelor’s degrees) at participating institutions
  • Eligibility Requirements: Each institution may have additional criteria such as minimum GPA or specific application procedures
