About the Yale Peace Fellowship 2027

Each cohort is geographically balanced and represents a range of professions, talents, experience, cultures, people, and perspectives.

Programme Participation

Peace Fellows must be available for all parts of the programme, including both virtual and in-person participation. The two required in-person components are:

• April 12–16, 2027: Opening convening on Yale University’s campus in New Haven
• June 14–18, 2027: Closing convening at Rose Castle, UK

The in-person components cannot be completed online.

Benefits and Financial Coverage

The programme states that there are no direct costs associated with programme participation. However, applicants must pay a $20 fee when submitting their application.

For the two in-person weeks, the programme covers:

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

• Be accomplished in the field of peace and reconciliation.
• Have a track record of strong leadership and a drive to grow professionally.
• Demonstrate commitment to cross-cultural understanding.
• Be citizens of a country other than the United States.
• Be fluent in English.
• Be available to participate fully in every part of the programme.

Applicants who hold dual citizenship with the United States are eligible. However, strong preference is given to candidates whose work focuses outside the United States.

The programme typically looks for candidates with at least five years of significant professional experience. High-level, full-time internships demonstrating leadership and responsibility may count toward this experience, particularly when they are relevant to the programme’s objectives.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following materials:

• Résumé or curriculum vitae — maximum three pages
• Personal statement — maximum 600 words
• 90-second video statement recorded within the application system
• One letter of recommendation

Only one recommendation letter is accepted per applicant. Recommendation letters are confidential and cannot be shared with applicants.

Applicants receive two attempts to record the required 90-second video. The second attempt becomes the final version reviewed by the selection committee.

The Yale Peace Fellowship application process is completed entirely online. Applicants do not need to complete or mail paper forms.

Applicants can create an account, work on their application, upload the required materials, and request their recommendation letter before submitting the completed application. A $20 electronic application fee is required for final submission.

Applicants are advised to submit at least 24 hours before the deadline. Extensions are not available. Once an application has been submitted, it cannot be edited, and updated materials cannot be accepted after the deadline.
