About the World Bank Group Treasury Summer Internship 2027

The Treasury Summer Internship Program is designed to develop skills for careers in the financial industry. It aims to bring college students with a demonstrated interest in financial careers into work that supports the World Bank’s development mandate.

The internship can also provide a pathway toward the Treasury Junior Analyst programme after graduation. Some interns may receive Junior Analyst offers after successfully completing the internship, subject to a competitive selection process.

Internship Structure

Treasury Summer Interns work full-time for ten weeks in Washington, DC.

The programme schedule includes:

• Onboarding Week: June 1 – June 4
• Rotation 1: June 7 – June 25
• Rotation 2: June 28 – July 16
• Rotation 3: July 19 – August 6
• Capstone Presentation: August 9

After the onboarding week, each intern rotates through three different Treasury teams for three-week periods.

Interns also participate in weekly discussions with the programme director and attend technical and career-focused sessions with Treasury officers, managers, and directors. Each rotation ends with a presentation, while the overall internship concludes with a capstone project presented to Treasury management.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the programme’s core eligibility requirements.

• Be enrolled in the second-to-last year of the equivalent of a four-year college degree programme.
• Demonstrate an interest in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• Be expected to graduate with the equivalent of a four-year college degree between December 2027 and September 2028.
• Be in good academic standing at their college or university.
• Be available full-time for the entire internship.
• Not hold another employment contract or internship during the programme.

The official FAQ states that applicants do not need to be U.S. citizens. The World Bank can sponsor a G4 visa for incoming interns where applicable.

The programme is intended for the equivalent of rising college seniors. Applicants already enrolled in or holding a master’s degree are not eligible for the Treasury Summer Internship Program.
