The McCall MacBain Scholarships 2027 support candidates planning to apply for Summer or Fall 2027 admission at McGill University. Applications are now open. Each year, up to 30 full scholarships and 100 entrance awards are offered to top candidates. The scholarship application is separate from the McGill University admission process.

About the McCall MacBain Scholarships 2027
The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a full graduate scholarship. It provides students with mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and access to a community of scholars.
Candidates submit the scholarship application online. They must also apply separately to compatible programmes at McGill University.
Scholarships and Awards
Each year, the programme offers:
✓ Up to 30 full scholarships
✓ Up to 100 entrance awards
Up to 30 McCall MacBain Scholars will begin their studies at McGill University in September 2027. This group will include 20 Canadian students and 10 international students.

Selection Criteria
The programme looks for candidates who demonstrate:

• Academic strength and intellectual curiosity
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the 2027 cohort, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
• Be a current student on track to earn a first bachelor’s degree by August 2027.
• Have earned a first bachelor’s degree in the last five years, in January 2021 or later.
• Have earned a first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago and have been 30 years old or younger on January 1, 2026.
Applicants must also meet the minimum degree and language requirements for admission to a McGill University master’s programme.

Application Process
The McCall MacBain Scholarship application is completed online. It is separate from the McGill University admissions process.
Applicants should:
• Complete the online McCall MacBain Scholarship application.
• Submit two required reference forms.
• Apply separately to a compatible programme at McGill University.
• Submit the McGill University programme application by the relevant programme deadline.
McGill University admissions generally open in September for the following Fall semester. Scholarship finalists must apply to McGill University in December, even when the relevant programme deadline is later.

Selection Process
After the written applications are assessed, more than 250 Canadian and international semi-finalists will be invited to regional interviews. These interviews will take place from October to December 2026.
Approximately 85 finalists will be invited to final interviews in Montreal in March 2027. Travel costs for participation in the final interviews are covered. Finalists are eligible to receive either a full scholarship or a finalist award.
