About the International Excellence Scholarships

Selection Process for Global Scholars Awards

The Global Scholars Awards require a separate application process.

The selection process includes:

The Women in STEM Award is available to female applicants enrolled on eligible STEM courses in Engineering, Computing, Psychology, Medical Biology, and Biomedical Sciences.

The Family Discount is available to immediate family members of current students or offer holders. Immediate family members are defined as spouse or partner, parent, sibling, or child.

The Transnational Education Progression Award is available to students progressing from an approved overseas Trans-National Education partner, where the applicant has not been referred through a representative partner or agent.

All scholarships under the International Excellence Scholarships scheme are tuition fee discounts for Year 1 only.

• Not exchangeable for cash
• Applied at enrolment

Greater Manchester Homecoming Scholarship

The Greater Manchester Homecoming Scholarship is also listed on the official scholarship page.

This scholarship is for new students who hold full British Citizenship but are classified as international fee payers because of where they live. It is available to new students enrolling on undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Greater Manchester from September 2026.

For the International Excellence Scholarships, awards are applied at enrolment and are subject to verification of eligibility.

Applicants should first hold an offer for an eligible programme at the University of Greater Manchester. The scholarship amount is then determined according to the relevant award package and the applicant’s verified academic qualification.
