Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
• Be a non-German citizen
• Hold a relevant Bachelor’s (for Master’s) or Master’s (for PhD) degree completed within the last 6 years
• Apply for a full-time, on-campus program in Germany
• Have a strong academic background
Language requirements:
• English-taught programs: IELTS/TOEFL as required
• German-taught programs: TestDaF / DSH / Goethe Certificate
EPOS programs additionally require a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
Applicants are not eligible if applying for part-time or online programs, or if they have previously received DAAD funding for the same degree level.
Application Process
- Find the right DAAD program via the DAAD scholarship database.
- Apply to the German university (parallel application may be required).
- Prepare required documents: online application form, transcripts, CV, motivation letter, language certificates, letters of recommendation, research proposal (if applicable), proof of work experience (EPOS).
- Submit the application through the DAAD portal or host university as instructed.
- Selection may include interviews; results are usually announced early or mid-year.
