The Aalto Summer Research Program 2026, also known as the Aalto Science Institute International Summer Research Programme, is a fully funded summer research opportunity hosted by Aalto University in Finland. The programme enables international undergraduate and master’s students to engage in advanced research projects under the guidance of leading academics in a dynamic research environment.
Internship Benefits
Selected participants are offered:
- A full-time research position lasting approximately 12 weeks (June–August) at Aalto University’s Otaniemi campus
- Monthly stipend of €2,000 or more, depending on academic level
- Travel allowance to support airfare (fixed amounts based on region)
- Support in securing student accommodation for the internship period
- One week of paid vacation during the programme
- Access to cultural, social, and community activities throughout the summer
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled undergraduate or master’s students (recent graduates may be considered in exceptional cases)
- Have completed at least two years of study in a relevant discipline at a recognised institution
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and interest in research
- Possess good English proficiency for research-based communication
Programme Duration
The internship runs for approximately 12 weeks between June and August 2026, with exact dates agreed upon with the host research group.
