Who Can Apply

• Not hold Italian citizenship, except for individuals with dual citizenship that includes Italian.
• Not be residents of Italy, under the definitions stated in the call.
• Apply for one of the listed Master’s degree programs through apply.unisi.it and follow the required procedures and deadlines.
• Apply for up to two programs, if desired.

The page also says that candidates awaiting evaluation and those who have already received confirmation of acceptance to one of the listed programs, in either the first or second intake, are eligible to apply. It further explains that, for this call, residents of Italy include non-EU citizens with a valid residence permit that allows enrollment without a new student visa, as well as EU and EU-equated citizens who have continuously resided in Italy for more than nine months. Citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the Republic of San Marino, and Switzerland are considered EU citizens.

Eligible Master’s Programs

The scholarships are awarded to the most talented students admitted to selected English-taught Master’s programs. One scholarship is available for each of the following three areas: Economics and Law; Political, International, Social and Cognitive Sciences; Biomedical and Medical Sciences. Two scholarships are available for two different courses in the area of Math and Experimental Sciences.

The listed programs are Economics, Finance, International Accounting and Management, Language and Mind: Linguistics and Cognitive Studies, Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Scienze Internazionali (curriculum: European Studies), Biotechnologies of Human Reproduction, Medical Biotechnologies, Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and Automation Engineering, Biodiversity, Conservation and Environmental Quality, Chemistry, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Engineering Management, and Sustainable Industrial Pharmaceutical Biotechnology.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted through the apply.unisi.it portal. The scholarship application appears in the academic year 2025/2026 listing under the “Scholarship” section. Only candidates who have already applied for admission to at least one of the listed programs will be considered. If a candidate has applied to two courses, one scholarship application is enough.

A non-refundable fee of 10 euros is required to submit the scholarship application. The page says payment instructions are sent by email, following the same procedure used for course admission applications. It also stresses that the scholarship application must be submitted through the same account used for the course admission application.

What Applicants Must Submit

• A short self-made video explaining the candidate’s motivations, with a maximum length of one minute.
• The name or names of the Master’s degree program or programs for which the candidate is applying under the call.

The page also states that the Evaluation Committee will use the documentation already uploaded for the admission application through the same portal. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
