The Kofi Annan Fellowship in Global Health Leadership 2026 is a fully funded leadership program created to strengthen the capacity of senior public health professionals in Africa. The fellowship focuses on developing advanced skills in strategy, management, and leadership to enable fellows to design and lead large-scale public health initiatives that drive meaningful change across the continent.
Fellowship Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
● Be a citizen of an African Union Member State
● Hold a postgraduate qualification in a public health–related field (including One Health, human medicine, health policy, epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health, environmental health, finance, or related disciplines)
● Have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience after completing a master’s degree
● Be employed full time in a public health role within a public or private organization
● Demonstrate proven leadership ability or strong leadership potential
Application Requirements
Candidates must submit the following documents as part of their application:
● A letter of support from their employer confirming full participation
● Two professional letters of recommendation
● A personal statement (maximum 400 words) describing commitment to public health and leadership goals
● A leadership challenge project proposal (maximum 400 words) outlining a public health challenge and proposed approach
