AmplifyChange Grants Portal for SRHR Organisations
Organisation: AmplifyChange
Category: Grant Application Guidance
Focus Area: Sexual and reproductive health and rights
Application Platform: AmplifyChange Grants Portal
Eligible Lead Applicants: Organisations based in eligible countries
Application Method: Grants Portal only
The AmplifyChange Grants Portal is the official application route for organisations seeking AmplifyChange funding. The FAQ page explains eligibility, applying, budgeting, portal registration, and grant management rules for organisations working to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.
AmplifyChange Grants Portal Overview
AmplifyChange focuses on grants led by organisations based in eligible countries in Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. These organisations should originate from and remain rooted in their own communities.
The FAQ also explains that applicant organisations must operate independently from headquarters or support offices based in Europe, North America, or any non-eligible country. They must define their strategy, raise funds, set objectives, shape their brand identity, and maintain their governance structure independently.
Eligibility Rules
Applicants should review the eligibility points before preparing an application.
• Lead applicant organisations must be based in an eligible country
• International non-government organisations cannot lead a project
• INGOs may apply as implementing partners where relevant and cost-effective
• Local organisations funded through international federations or bodies outside public grants are not eligible
• Organisations focused on SRHR service delivery may apply only if service delivery connects to advocacy and movement building
• Applicants may work on one or more of AmplifyChange’s five priority themes
• Projects may cover any number of eligible implementation countries
• Consortium applications are welcome
AmplifyChange states that consortium members may act as implementing or downstream partners. However, the lead applicant must set up contracts or memorandums of understanding with consortium partners.
Application Rules
Applications must be submitted through the official Grants Portal. AmplifyChange does not accept applications by email, social media, or WhatsApp.
In addition, organisations may submit only one application as a lead organisation. However, an organisation awarded a grant as a lead applicant may also be an implementing partner in another application led by a different organisation.
Portal Registration
New organisations must register through the AmplifyChange Grants Portal. First, they access the portal and click “Register.” Then, they answer the required questions in the system.
If an organisation already has a Grants Portal account, it does not need to register again for each funding round. Instead, users can log in with their existing username and password. AmplifyChange aims to review new registrations within 72 hours on working days. However, this may take up to five working days during peak periods.
Application Preparation
Applicants should complete individual and organisational profiles as early as possible. This helps them prepare for future funding rounds.
The portal allows users to save progress while completing an application. However, applicants must click the Save button. The system does not save work automatically, and the team cannot recover lost work.
Budget Guidance
AmplifyChange allows several budget items when they fit the grant rules.
✓ Up to 40% of a grant may support organisational development and effectiveness
✓ Core and indirect costs may be included
✓ Staff salaries may be included
✓ Bank transfer charges may be included
✓ Office rent may be included
However, AmplifyChange does not allow grant funding to buy vehicles, land, or capital expenditures. Applicants should also follow the budget guidance linked from the FAQ page.
Financial Accounts
For Opportunity and Strengthening grants, applicants may apply without annual audited accounts. In those cases, AmplifyChange needs other financial documents, such as an audited report or a profit and loss statement.
For Network and Partnership grants, applicants must provide fully audited annual accounts. Therefore, organisations should check which grant type they plan to apply for before preparing documents.
Grants Portal Support
AmplifyChange uses Fluxx for its Grants Portal. The FAQ recommends Google Chrome for the best experience.
Other compatible systems include Internet Explorer Version 11 and 11+, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, iOS 10.0+ for iPhone or iPad, and Android. In addition, applicants can use the portal guidance videos and the “Information” section inside the Grants Portal for help at each stage.
Grant Management
After an application is selected for funding, grantees work with their Grants Manager and Grants Compliance Team. They may update their workplan, budget, indicators, and milestones so project documents match the current situation.
AmplifyChange also supports flexible funding and core costs. Therefore, grantees should contact their Grants Manager if a major context change affects planned activities.
Security Notice
Applicants should not respond to messages on email, social media, or WhatsApp that ask for sensitive details to receive AmplifyChange funds. Instead, they should contact enquire@amplifychange.org so AmplifyChange can check whether the message is legitimate.
