About the GLOCAL Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
The GLOCAL programme is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters programme. Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available for qualified applicants to the International Master in Global Markets, Local Creativities.
Students from any region of the world may receive an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. However, the programme applies a geographical balance rule. No more than six scholarships per nationality will be awarded across the four editions covered by the project.
The project includes 60 regular scholarships. In addition, funding is available for up to 20 further scholarships targeted at specified regions through the European Union’s external action instruments.
Benefits and Financial Coverage
The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship includes several forms of financial support. Scholarship recipients are not liable for tuition fees because the scholarship and GLOCAL Consortium together cover the full amount.
Confirmed scholarship support includes:

✓ Full insurance coverage
✓ Optional contribution toward student travel and installation costs
✓ Monthly subsistence allowance for the entire EMJM study programme
The optional travel and installation contribution is intended to assist with practical expenses such as visas, residence permits, temporary accommodation, and related costs.

Scholarship Payment Options
Successful applicants can choose between two scholarship payment arrangements.
Option One
Under the first option, recipients receive three advance payments of €1,000:
• €1,000 in August before the first semester
• €1,000 in May at the end of Year 1
• €1,000 in September at the beginning of Year 2
These advance payments are deducted from the overall scholarship award. Students selecting this option then receive a monthly subsistence payment of €1,275 for each month over the two-year programme.
Option Two
Students who do not choose the travel and installation advance payments can instead receive:

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, applicants must first have either a conditional or unconditional offer from the University of Glasgow.
Applicants must also:
• Submit all required documents listed in the scholarship application form by the deadline.
• Ensure their offer status is not “holding for documents” at the scholarship deadline.
• Not have previously received an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarship.
Applicants whose offer remains “holding for documents” when the scholarship deadline arrives will not be considered for the scholarship.
Selection Process
After the deadline, the GLOCAL Consortium reviews and ranks eligible scholarship applications. Scholarships are offered to the highest-ranking applicants.
A reserve list is also maintained according to the ranking. If an original scholarship recipient withdraws, the first eligible candidate on the reserve list may be contacted.
Scholarship applications are assessed by the GLOCAL Consortium degree-awarding partners using the following criteria:
• Personal Statement: 40%
• Academic Merit: 30%
• Quality of References: 10%
• Other relevant factors: 20%, including areas such as relevant research or professional experience

Applicants seeking the GLOCAL Erasmus Mundus Scholarship must first obtain a conditional or unconditional University of Glasgow offer. They must then submit the documents required by the scholarship application form before the scholarship deadline.
