The Internet Society Peering Fellowship 2026 is now open for applications. It is a fully funded fellowship for professionals interested in internet infrastructure, connectivity, and global networking systems. The programme will take place in Kigali, Mendoza, and Osaka, depending on the region of selected fellows.

Program Overview

The Internet Society Peering Fellowship 2026 is designed for 20 peering and interconnection professionals. It focuses on helping participants build skills, knowledge, and tools to address interconnection and peering challenges. In addition, it aims to support the growth of the internet and the peering community through major networking events.

What the Fellowship Covers

The fellowship includes the following benefits:

✓ Hotel accommodation for the full event period.
✓ A fixed stipend for additional needs during the event.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Internet Society Peering Fellowship 2026, applicants must meet these requirements:

• Be based or living in Africa, Asia-Pacific (APAC), Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), or the Middle East.
• Applicants from Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States are encouraged to apply.
• Have at least 3 years of experience.
• Be interested in how the internet connects globally.
• Want to grow in technical and policy spaces.

Fellowship Activities and Event Locations

Selected fellows will attend different peering events based on their region. Fellows from Africa will take part in AfPIF in Kigali, Rwanda, from 18 to 21 August. Fellows from Latin America and the Caribbean will attend LACNIC/LACNOG in Mendoza, Argentina, from 19 to 22 October. Fellows from the Asia-Pacific region will participate in Peering Asia in Osaka, Japan, from 2 to 6 November. Fellows from the Middle East are listed as TBC.
