The Google Data Center Community AI Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded virtual fellowship for community-focused leaders who want to use AI and technology to solve local challenges. It is an initiative of Watson Institute and Google, and it combines training, mentorship, financial support, and access to a global network.

Program Overview

The Google Data Center Community AI Fellowship 2026 is powered by Watson Institute and designed for community leaders who are using AI to scale local solutions in Google Data Center Communities. The fellowship aims to help participants strengthen their leadership, grow their ventures, and increase their community impact. Fellows also work on community-led Basecamps, which are one-day workshops that support earlier-stage entrepreneurs.

The program runs for 16 weeks and takes place from September 1, 2026, to January 14, 2027. It includes a virtual immersive from September 1 to 11, 2026, weekly virtual workshops every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and a Virtual Summit on January 14, 2027.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• They must be based in or creating impact within a Google Data Center Community in the USA, Finland, the UK, or the Netherlands.
• Ideal candidates are founders, entrepreneurs, or community leaders using AI and technology in their ventures.
• The venture should show early traction, such as pilot programs, active users, or measurable impact.
• Applicants should have a strong community connection and a proven history of driving positive change.
• The initiative must be actively serving communities and solving local challenges.
• All applicants must fully participate in the 16-week fellowship.
• They should attend the virtual immersive from September 1 to September 11, 2026.
• Fellows should also join weekly virtual workshops every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Application Process

The application process begins online, and candidates are expected to complete the form in about 30 minutes. Applications submitted by July 12, 2026, receive early consideration, and the review continues on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.

After submission, the Admissions Committee reviews the applications. Selected candidates are then invited to a 20-minute Zoom interview. Final decisions are announced on August 3, 2026, and the program begins on September 1, 2026.
