The USTC Research Internship Program 2026 is a fully funded international research opportunity hosted by the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The programme is designed for high-achieving undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students worldwide, offering practical research experience through participation in advanced projects supervised by experienced faculty members.

Internship Benefits
Depending on the funding level, selected interns may receive:

  • A monthly living allowance under Level A funding:
    • Bachelor’s students: 2,500 RMB/month
    • Master’s students: 3,000 RMB/month

Funding Categories
The programme offers three fellowship levels:

  • Level A: Full funding, including stipend, accommodation, insurance, and tuition waiver
  • Level B: Tuition waiver, medical insurance, and free accommodation
  • Level C: Tuition waiver only

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

  • Be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport
  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate (3rd or 4th year), master’s, or doctoral student
  • Be 18 to 40 years old
  • Be in good physical and mental health
  • Demonstrate sufficient English proficiency

Internship Duration
The internship period generally ranges from 3 to 11 months, depending on the research project and agreement with the supervising professor.
